Our founding Directors, Bronwyn Ward-Manson & David Manson share their stories:
" Growing up in the desert in South Australia taught me about life. It taught me about people, situations and how to be tenacious and resilient in the face of adversity.
I learnt so much about people - their kindness, generosity and willingness to support and help others no matter who they were or what they did.
It taught me how amazing and kind people are when you reach out and make connections."
David said " Growing up in the west coast of Scotland I learnt how to face adversity and build resilience and tenacity. These qualities showed me the ways to survive and thrive challenges and overcome adversity in life."
We know these qualities also build understanding, empathy and compassion for others especially those who face challenges and obstacles to be able to make their world a better place.
John Lewis, US Congressman and the man who had been beaten very nearly to death on “Bloody Sunday” in Selma, Ala., 40 years earlier, said:
"Do not get lost in a sea of despair. Do not become bitter or hostile. Be hopeful, be optimistic. Never, ever be afraid to make some noise and get in good trouble, necessary trouble. We will find a way to make a way out of no way."
